The Ripken Museum, (Route 40 and Bel Air Avenue)

Photographed in 2001. In 2004, the Ripken Museum was temporarily
closed for moving to Ripken Stadium. The building was partially demolished in January 2005.

Below is the inscription on Cal's plaque in the Baseball Hall of Fame

Baltimore, A.L., 1981-2001
Arrived at the ballpark every day with a burning desire to
perform at his highest level. Dedication and work ethic
resulted in a record 2,632 consecutive games played from
May 30, 1982 through September 19, 1998, earning him the
title of baseball's "iron man." In 21 seasons, collected 3,184
hits and 431 home runs, and was named to 19 consecutive
all-star teams. Won rookie of the year honors, two MVPs
and two golden glove awards. His Orioles won the 1983
World Series and he hit .336 lifetime in 28 postseason games.

The original building, on the left, was built in 1908 and the larger wing in 1935.
